Who's in the Artists Area?

Dennis Werner - Baskets from Tanzania*

HABARI! that is Hello in Swahili from the Southwest Highlands ot Tanzania. For the past 6 years, the Social Justice Committee of Sacred Heart Parish & St. Mary's School have been working with Father Augustine Mbiche with now over 2500 orphans whose parents have died from AID's in his Matamba Parish. We initially helped to feed the children and are helping to build a school for children up to 5th Grade at the Matamba Primary School in Matamba, Tanzania. Father has still over 1000 orphans that we are trying to build a Youth Hostel to house them near the School, which is not yet completed.

We hope to make a Mission Trip to his parish in 2012. To help make our trip possible we will be selling special hand woven baskets that come to us from this district. This basket weaving art is passed from mother to daughter. It takes over a week to complete each basket. We also have other items also for sale. For your Passport Stamp we have test on learning Swahili. ASANTE (SANA) Thank you (very much).
