NEW Sculpt-A-Culture Contest

Calling teams of 3-8, this contest will give your group a great chance to support
a good cause while letting the community know about your organization.

This new event will give Teams of 3-8 people the chance to show off their artistic
talent while raising funds for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

At 8:30 a.m. on September 25, 2010 all teams will have the chance to select a
country from a drawing. Teams have between 9:00-11:00 a.m. to sculpt a creation
reflective of the country drawn. Winner announced at 3:00. All supplies will be
provided for the sculpting (see guidelines below).

Teams may represent a business, a department within your place of employment,
service organization, churches, clubs, families or maybe even just a group of friends.

SCULPTURE TEAM GUIDELINES

1)  Sculpture teams report to Culturfest grounds by 8:30 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2010.  
2)  Team captains should be identified on the registration form. At 8:30 a.m. team captains
draw for your country/culture.
3) Materials provided include an assortment of seasonal vegetables, herbs, bamboo skewers, toothpicks, cutting boards, paring knives, scissors, and string.
4)  Sculpture displays should be no larger than 3 feet wide by 3 feet in height.  
5)  Team members should stay on site until completion of your sculpture.
6)  A label with your team's name (and team members) will be displayed next to your sculpture.
7)  A ballot box will be used to collect the "People's Choice." 
8) Voting participants are asked to consider authenticity of the culture, aesthetically appealing, creative use of foods, technicality, team work/spirit.
Attendees of the festival will vote for their favorite entry by putting coins/cash in the appropriate ballot box. Proceeds from the voting will go to the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. The winning entry will be announced prior to the Geography Bee at the Festival.
